Rollence Granito manufactures 800 x 1600 mm porcelain tiles at its own factory in Matel, Tal. Wankaner, Dist. Morbi, Gujarat, India, and supplies them to importers, distributors, and project contractors across Egypt. The size is written four ways by buyers: 800 x 1600 mm, 80 x 160 cm, 31 x 63 inch, and approx. 2.5 x 5 ft. One tile covers 1.28 m², which is 3.6 times the coverage of a standard 600 x 600 mm tile. Production runs to ISO 13006 Group BIa porcelain classification with water absorption of 0.5% or less, and every batch is checked against the ISO 10545 test series before it is cleared for export.
Dry-pressed, rectified, ISO 13006 Group BIa porcelain. The reference standard is listed against each property so it can be pasted directly into a tender submission.
Note: polished and high-gloss surfaces are not recommended for outdoor paving, pool surrounds, or any floor that stays wet. For wet or external areas, specify a matte or textured finish and confirm the DIN 51130 slip rating (R10 or R11).
Grout is the weak point of any tiled floor — it stains, it holds dirt, and it's the first thing that dates a lobby. Moving up to 800x1600 cuts both tile count and grout run sharply against a standard 600 x 600 mm format.
Note: large-format tiles need full-bed coverage under the tile — spot-bonding leaves voids that crack under point load. Use a C2TE-class adhesive, back-butter the tile, and work to a substrate flatness of 3 mm over a 2 m straight edge. A single 800x1600 piece weighs approx. 26 kg at 9 mm, so plan for two fitters and a suction frame.
